Australia Day 8 is An Unexpected Day in Sydney

Guess what happens when you don't have a blackberry, a computer, or a watch with a date? You get to the airport a day early and find that you have a full day in Sydney before leaving for the Great Barrier Reef TOMORROW! Actually a good thing because it allows me to plan and pay some bills. Took a really long walk through the Botanical Gardens and sat at Mrs. Macquarie's Rock (pictured above), toured the famous Opera House, and walked through historic section called The Rocks.  Dinner at the Australian Hotel with happy hour wines and pizza topped with emu (other choices were crocodile and kangaroo).  I checked the settings for posted comments from you faithful followers and believe that they are fixed now and ready for your comments!  Thanks for also sending emails to the kathrynesq@gmail.com account.  It is wonderful hearing from all of you - G'day mates...

  1. Kathy, this is so much fun 'traveling"with you across the great Down-under. What a whirlwind of adventure -- and it's only been a week. So did you make it surfing? How was it? I loved the pic of ALL the maidens along Bondi Beach. Tsk. The views along the bays are stunning and must be a rush biking and hiking along them. Hope you're catching your breath for a few hours...on your X'tra day in Sydney.
Miss you! Matey Jules (Davis says, 'Hey)

  2. Hey Kathy!

Your blogs are fabulous - I also feel like I'm on this trip with you (as I sit in my office and watch the dreary rain pour down outside!)
I keep waiting for the "I met the man of my life" story to come :-)

  3. Thanks! Ended up not surfing but had an amazing walk along the bay beaches.
Regarding the man of my life ... I did get a ride from the airport to the ferry this morning with 3 guys in their 40's - at least it's a start :)

  5. Kathy,

Oops!! How funny, but very fortuitous (sp?). What a beautiful country! Love the picture of you by Macquarie's Rock - you look like a movie star! So where are the handsome Aussies?

    Love,

  6. So basically, none of this looks real. Are you actually on this trip?

Absolutely amazing! And all this because you screwed up the date......... there's no one like you, Kathy.

As I said before, safe flight!

Perhaps you can take one of the 4 guys along......., unless they're too old for you.
