Australia: Day 1!

Whew... after a 21 hour flight, I arrived at Sydney and was met at the airport by Michael (General Counsel for Sydney police department) and while he was in meetings, I did a whirlwind tour of Sydney: Opera House, Circular Quay, Contemporary Museum of Art, St. Mary's Cathedral, and a view of the Bridge. I got a quick lesson in how to distinguish valuable opals from fake ones as well as real Kangaroo purses from knock offs. Michael and Patricia are wonderful hosts and their twin 4 year old girls, Tess and Yarra, are adorable with their little accents. They seemed to like the North Carolina trinkets that I brought along. We fixed my entire itinerary tonight over steak and merlot and this should prove to be a wonderful journey!

  1. If the first day of your adventure is an example of what your trip will be like you are going to have a ball. Hope you have adjusted to life/time down under.
    Love ya.
